Chapter 1: Strange World

*Beep-Beep-Beep*
In a small room, there lay a 14-year-old girl on the hospital bed.
Her name is Kora Yorps. She had ended up in a horrible accident that led her to be in a coma.
“I'm sorry but she may not be waking up anytime soon...but I will try my best to help her,” the doctor told Kora's mother, who was crying in grief. “Please!! I'm willing to pay anything so please save my…”

As Kora opened her eyes, she questioned where she was. It was pitch black in her view of sight. When she looked down, she saw a small light. She felt around her surroundings and realized that she was currently on a large staircase. Not knowing where she was, she decided to walk down the stairs towards the light, slowly and carefully.
She hoped to find out where she was and what exactly was going on. Also, a part of her hoped this was just a dream that will end soon.
The stairs started to become more visible to Kora as she continued walking closer to the light. As Kora was walking down the stairs, she accidentally tripped over what seemed to be a book.
As she was about to fall, she let out a little scream that was soon interrupted when the appearance of a small boy showed up. A young boy with short, flat orange hair and alluring yellow eyes, grabbed the back of her shirt and pulled her back up so she wouldn't fall.
“Hey, are you okay,” the boy asked.
“Y-yea...thanks. Um, do you know where we are?”
“Oh! What a coincidence. I just got up to that part of the book.” The boy, who seemed shorter than Kora by half a head, looked around his surroundings for a second and then took a seat on the staircase, surrounded by books. He grabbed the book that Kora had tripped over and opened it.
“This is a star or planet called Earth and if you need more information, the Earth is one of the stars circling the sun and the place they are called is the universe. So technically we are in a universe and if you need more information--” Before the boy could finish explaining, Kora, who was confused, interrupted him.
“N-no thanks! I think I know where we are now...thanks...” In reality, Kora had no idea what he was talking about.
“No problem! If you need more information, you can come to the library bio section. I'm always there reading books.” *Winks*~
Kora stood there for a few seconds in awkward silence.
“T-thanks. I'll keep that in mind.”
Kora decided to continue walking down the stairs since it seemed clear that the boy wasn't going to answer her properly. The boy glanced back over at her and then went back to reading his book in silence.
As she continued to walk down the stairs through the darkness, she finally reached the bottom of what she had thought was to be endless stairs. She saw a town with strange buildings that she'd never seen before. Her eyes squinted from the bright sunlight that she had not seen in a while. She covered her eyes with her hands for some time and soon got used to the sunlight.
It was a lively town full of people talking and children running around. As she looked around, something caught her attention. Far back but still in her vision, was a large palace.
“A palace...?” Kora was astonished. She had only seen something so grand in movies and books.
Kora, interested, decided to walk to the palace that was in her view of sight. After half an hour or so of walking, she reached the entrance of the palace. Kora lets out a huge sigh. “Woah...I've never seen a palace this close up in my life before!”
In front of the gates, there were two guards who blocked her path, not allowing her to enter.
“May I ask where this is?”
The guards' eyes narrowed. “Can't you tell? It's the palace. Who are you to not even know this? And your clothes are quite strange...are you a Defus??”
“D-defus??? What's that?”
A man's voice from behind interrupts the conversation. Kora, startled by the voice, slowly turns her head. The soldiers look up and salute.
“Prince Loki! Welcome back.” The two soldier’s loud voices startled Kora.
Kora’s eyes widen as she looks over to what the soldiers were saluting to. It was a beautiful white horse that was ridden by a young man with blonde hair that shined like gold under the sun. It was as if a real-life prince that came out of a fairy tale had appeared in front of Kora.
He looked at Kora and asked who the girl in his way was.
“Sir, she seems to be lost or something.”
“Lost? I believe it's not your job to guide lost people.”
“Y-yes. We were just about to tell her to leave.”
The gates opened. Kora stared at the handsome man who only took one glance at her as he entered the palace on his horse.
The way he looked at Kora did not make her feel very pleasant. It looked as though he was looking down upon her. But despite the way he looked at her, Kora could not stop admiring how good-looking he was and how magical that encounter seemed.
“Leave! You are lucky that you are getting away without any punishment! There will not be a next time!” The soldiers shoo Kora away from the entrance because of her disturbance.
“S-sorry…”
